There’s no rocket science
involved – it’s a simple matter of getting cool air into
your engine faster and more efficiently.
Cool air is mandatory for optimum performance as it contains
more oxygen than warm air and is denser, resulting in better
combustion. (Note how much better your car runs at night or
early morning.)
The faster you can make this air flow to your engine the
better it will perform.
All vehicles have a factory induction, however most are
undersized, restrictive and poorly situated so that there is
no ramming effect and your engine is left to breathe in hot
turbulent air from within the engine bay. This results in
poor performance and economy – it’s like trying to run down
the road with a straw in your mouth.
The solution is to ram cool air from outside the engine bay.
The combination of ramming cool high-pressure air directly
to the engine with minimal disruption gives greater
efficiency at all engine speeds.

SS Inductions’ cold air systems are designed to
channel that air directly into your car’s standard
airbox with minimal pressure loss.
The Big Mouth™ range combines a larger induction
with a larger entry into the airbox, while the
Growler range replaces the standard airbox with a
streamlined pod-style airbox and filter.
Most models include our unique aluminium air scoop,
which increases the ramming effect at highway speed
from the additional air it deflects into the
induction from the large grill area.
These features allow the engine to breathe in a
greater volume of cold air at all engine speeds,
right across the rev range.
The ECU (engine control unit)
in your vehicle will detect the increase of cool air
and alter its settings accordingly – this may take
up to several hundred kilometres to fully adjust and
produce the maximum effect.
SS Inductions’
cold air systems are manufactured from high quality
plastics that have an original factory look. They
feature a smooth internal shape for a less
disruptive airflow.
Each product is easily fitted and comes complete
with full fitting instructions. Unlike other
aftermarket products, the Big Mouth™ and Growler
ranges generally require no cutting or drilling of
body panels. The standard opening to the airbox (for
the Big Mouth™ range) must be enlarged as part of
the D.I.Y. fitting process.
